Eommmccmcuf An unusual climax to an unusual year was the graduation ceremony of the Class of '44. For the first time, the exercises were held out of doors. The setting was the City Park Band Shell with trees, flowers, sky, and lake to give their own dignity and beauty, and the music of orchestra and chorus to weave a wistful spell. Living Well in a New America was the theme developed by the ten honor students who en- visioned a brave new world to be pioneered by the Class of '44. Formally attired in caps and gowns, more than five hundred graduates filed in an impressive academic procession across the Band Shell to receive their diplomas. The Class of '44 took a last look back before turning to face the future.
