MO 64C50 I MIO-CONTINENT PUBLIC LIBRARY I I I I I I I I I I I II I I I We at South Junior High School wish to dedicate our yearbook to our retiring superintendent. MR. JOE HERNDON. Mr. Herndon came to Raytown as superintendent in 1945 and has served us well since then. The Raytown School System has progressed to one of the most outstanding in the state and nation under Mr. Herndon's guidance. Raytown schools have grown to a total of 11 elementary schools, 3 Junior Highs. 2 High schools, a driving range, and now a Vo-Tech school. Outstanding recognition has been achieved by Raytown's athletic, music, and scholarly groups. We all owe much to the man responsible at the top, our Mr. Herndon. Mr. Herndon was and is also active in many, many other community, educational, and professional groups. This only furthers to our beliefs as well as others that this is one great man--our superintendent for the past 29 years, MR. JOE HERNDON. Page 4
