PUBLIC LIBRARY H HH II I! 509449 4 IN'J h t g C'f On the Road to Riches To avoid going through life penniless, many have turned to part-time jobs. There comes a time in life when the 15 dollar allowance from Mom doesn't quite cover all the expenses, so the hunt began for that perfect job. Today, society demands Calvin Klein, Preludes, and Fedorats; not Toughskins, station wagons, and Dairy Queen. Many help to cover the costs of their expensive lifestyles by mowing lawns, working in department stores, babysitting, or flipping burgers at McDonalds. While some were out buying clothes, others were planning ahead and saving those hard-earned bucks for college. The one thing that everyone had in common was the decrease in free-time, although most agreed having their own money was well worth the sacrifice.

Raytown South is the place to be for spirit. Without spirit and enthusiasm, school would be a dreadful place to be. Pep rallies are put on by the cheerleaders every Friday to get our players and students psyched for the game. Pep pals support their player by decorating their locker and sending them goodies. The Cardinal fans, dressed in the traditional red and white, begin piling into the stadium about 7 pm. Banners have been hung throughout the stands. As the team. rushes out and bursts through the banner, it is not unusual to see balloons flying through the air. The Pep Band performs the anthem and alma mater, and the cardinal players rush on to another victory.
