The freshman after crea ended with our schools first un , started vvith a bang for both the 8th ming South Junior at the High School Stadium, defeated season. The football season for the 8th graders end- ed with a 2-win, Z-ties, and 1-loss record, that one going to Pittman. 0 0 Our 8th and 9th grade teams, as a whole, had a fairly good season. The Sth grade had a record of 8-wins and 6-loss and 9-losses. Highlights for the 9th grade team were: taking 3'rd place in the Babtiste Tournament bre ak' es while the freshman ended with 9-wins , ing the 72 point record for total points in one game by 4 points and Jim Turner breaking the 29 point record for the most oints ' d b p score y a' single player in a game by 8 points. Bradfie1d's, Cesar's, and Grounds'finereboundi1:1g, Soltys' hustle, and Tur- ner's high scoring should receive recognition. The 8th grade team, though hampered by height, put in a lot of hard work and desire to make a real fine team. Parker, Heckman, Postalwait and Knight were notible players. I Both of the Raytown Junior track teams have put forth much effort which has paid off. One of the biggest surprises of the track season is freshman Steve Snelling who ran the mile in under 4 minutes and 50 seconds. The t grade squad are: Wade r gzgqak f . op 5 boys on the 8th , Tebbencamp, Russell, Parker, and Postlewait.
