Members of the Spectrum Staff were chosen because of recommendation by their teachers. They published a magazine containing original work done by Baytown High School students. The Spectrum included work from areas of fine and practical arts. Some students submitted literature written in French or Spanish. 'Those who were interested in art also contributed their en- deavors in painting, sculpting, sketching, and photography. Mechanical drawings repre- sented the industrial arts.
