Autumn ushered in new acquaintances: teachers, students, subjects, organiza- tions, and, for some of us, a new school. For those of us to whom the school was new, the first days seemed confusingg but soon we began to become accustomed to the new rules and regulations. In those early days we came to appreciate the friendliness and interest of our teachers. We developed lasting friendships both in the classroom and in our extra-curricular activities. We grew in knowledge and social skills. This autumn brought rainy weather. Even twice the usual amount of precip- itation didn't dampen our school spirit at football games. We loved cheering at games in the frosty night air, not minding at all our icy hands and feet. On the night of Football Homecoming, we discarded our warm slacks and blankets for wool sheaths and suits which we wore to the dance. The glory of the football season came to a climax when we defeated our old rivals, North Kansas City. Later, we enjoyed dressing up and attending the comedy put on by our drama department, Blithe Spirit. As the much-dreaded Quarter Tests passed and winter appeared, we mused that this autumn had beena wonder- ful time of our lives. Mani What a drag! Trucks and students labor at Raytown South High. er here!
