Kathyis reaction was one of complete surprise, just as any girl's would have been had they been bestowed this honor. During her four years at Ray-Pec, Kathy has been active in activities. For three years she has been involved in basketball and volleyball in which she was all conference her junior and senior year. She also participated on the track team for one year. Academically, Kathy served as president of the N.H.S. and as the editor of the literary magazine the Apocalypse. She also was active in the Varsity Club and F.L.C. Kathy also was chosen her senior year for Whois Who in American High School Students . Kathy quoted her post-graduation plans as going to college at Avila for a nursing degree and then to marry and have children. ThemelB l

Independence, MO 64055 f 3 0000 1319 Panther King On October 24, the Panther Royalty was announced and John Harper was chosen as the reigning king. At that time he was not even aware the con- test was taking place. During his past high school years, John has been very involved in school activities. In sports, he has been a var.- sity letterman in football for three years, a three-year letterman in track I and was one of four team captains in football. He has excelled greatly in football; he was chosen for the all con- ference team his sophomore year and in his senior year, again made the team as the punter, kicker and offensive back for the second team, and a defen- sive line backer for the first team. Other activities he has been involved with include Varsity Club, National Honor Society, Foreign Language Club and Honor Band for three years.
