This year's team had a winning edge over past years. They worked hard to win. Preparation for the season began after the 1977 season of 5-2-2. The players knew they must set goals. They wanted to win- they wanted to know what would help them. Decisions were made to attend a football camp and work out all summer. Those individuals who attended the camp attained the meanings of three words: Pride, Love, and Togetherness. They spread the meanings through- out the team. Our season was based on those words. The captains were true leaders in all respects. We had leadership and young men who wanted to pay the price to win. They worked harder than any team of the past. This helped them succeed towards their goals. There are many reasons why we were one of the best football teams Ray-Pec ever had. The 7-2 record speaks for itself and the first West Central Confer- ance plaque ever won in football. We are looking forward to a better season next year because of what the team this past season has done for us. They helped establish Ray-Pec football tradition.
