Ray-Pec Volleyball: Building For The Future The 1978 season was a learning experience for the Ray-Pec girl's volleyball team. The girl's volleyball team started its second year with a great deal of promise, with 10 returning girls with at least one year of experience. These girls took all their desire and determination into learning to bump, set, spike, block and run an offense. Their talent came through as we won our first game of the season belowing WARRENSBURG off the court 15-4. But, in volleyball, you must win two games out of three to win a match, and we dropped the next two. This was typical of the whole season as the team would pull together and manage to win one game out of almost every match they played. The team compiled an overall record of 6-12 and a conference record of 2-6. Following the loss of All Conference, Tia Sossamon, Honorable Mention, Beth Long, and senior Cindy Spalding, Pat McKinney, and Kammy Christyg the outlook for 1979 is excellent with 7 returning letter winners, including Hon- orable Mention Georgia Kitson, and a much more exper- ienced team.
