lfllTGl2ClASS Rlvallly Interclass rivalry has worked this year more than in the past years. In ticket sales, the juniors were awarded ten dollars by the Student Council for reaching 100 per cent first. One of the many projects which inter- class rivalry sponsored was the picking up litter in the halls. Girls' State, sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, was held on the campus of Central Washington State College at Ellensburg, June 12 to June 19. The purpose of Girls' State is to provide citizenship training for girls, to afford them an opportunity to live together as self-governing citizens in order that they may understand and participate ir1 the functioning of local, state and federal government. i SEATED: G. Borovec. ss- Boys' league Boys' League this year has done various activi- ties to earn money for the Boys' League Scholarship for a senior boy. This scholarship is worth 5100. Officers for the year were John Rosentangle, president, Terry Stark, vice-president g Mike McKinney, treasurer, Chris Halpin, secretary, and Greg Walker, student council representative. The adviser for the Boys' League was Mr. Byron Vadset.

Qmls' league Girls' League activities of the year included ,Football Homecoming, Basket- ball Homecoming, Mother-Daughter Tea, and the annual scholarship of S100 given to a senior girl at graduation. Each month a girl was chosen for Girl- of-the-Month. At the end of the year, a Girl-of-the-Year was chosen from these girls. This year's officers were Marilyn Smith, president, Cathy Strozyk, vice-president, Janet McKinney, secretary, Glorianne Ma- this, treasurer,Kay Porter, historian, Susan Totten, point keeper, Marla Elcher, stu- dent council representative, Nancy Boro- vec, senior representative, Billie Bridge- water, junior representative, Kristy Senn, sophomore representative, and Gayle Wal- ker, freshman representative. John Rosentangle and Gary Wrona, Raymond High School seniors, were chosen by the American Legion to attend the annual Boys' State at Gonzaga University in Spokane from June 11-18. Boys' State is a wonderful opportunity for boys to meet people and to learn about local, county, and p state govern- ment. John and Gary took part in elections and discussions during this week and were elected to various offices. Each dormitorywas divided into a political party and rallies. were held. They worked on party platforms which were presented to the voters during these rallies. ' Governor Evans spoke on the state government on the last day, and he also handed out diplomas to the graduates. LEFT TO RIGHT: G. Wrona J. Rosentangle, SGABGCI4 Marilyn Smith, Girls' League president, and John Rosentangle, Boys' League president, represented Raymond High School at the Seabeck Leadership Conference during the week of August 20, 1967. The week on Hoods Canal was an active one for the 200 delegates who attended from all over the state. Seabeck offered a workshop in leadership training that taught the principles and responsibilities of an effective government.
