FQREW.ORDmQ ...... ggi ug-q.... 3 OUNGSTOWN is famous industrially, as a key allied products. lt is the home of two of the great- est steel corporations in the nation, and several other nationally known steel companies are repre- sented here by their mills and fabricating plants. 1lMany of Youngstown's plants utilizing raw iron and steel. manufacture an extensive variety of finished steel products, such as tubing, nails, wire, shafting, pipe, machinery, and furniture of all kinds. 1lHundreds of thousands of tons of Youngstown steel finds its way to all corners of the world. It may be in the form of automobiles, tractors, roofing, structural shapes, beams. or any other of the million and one uses made of steel. 1lYoungs- town means to the steel industry what Akron means to the rub- ber industry. Folks in Youngstown eat, sleep, and work steel. A larger percentage of our population are dependent upon steel than upon all other activities combined. Steel has been the basis of all of our private fortunes, public works, beautiful parks, and modern schools. 1lAnywhere in Youngstown you may hear a discussion of the processes of steel making or the finishing and fabricating of the mill product.
