COMMUNITY Nowhere Else But Corpus Chr t When asked where to find clear, blue skies, green, grassy parks, beautiful bayfront homes, miles of water and beaches, a warm climate, sea gulls, sail boats, and other breathtaking sights, we immediately responded with, Nowhere else but Corpus Christi, of course! Every year, thousands of tourists from all over the country flock here to see what the Sparkling City By the Sea is really like. lt has much to offer with additional extras such as a brand new courthouse, the Harbor Bridge, modern buildings, expanding resi- dential sections, and palm trees ga- lore. Probably the most important attrac- tion to visitors and all Corpus Chris- tians is Padre Island, the longest barrier beach in the United States. On warm weekends, we remember packing our suntan lotion, sunburn lotion, towel, radio, and surfboard and heading for the condominiums to relax in the soothing Texas sun and cool oft in the Gulf waters. Presently, Corpus Christi accomo- dates approximately 250,000 peo- ple and is the seventh largest city in Texas. lt was a great place to grow up in, with its cleanliness and open- ness.
