To School And Community '5 Wa- We The Pan American Club at W. B. Ray is associated with the Stu- dent Forum of Texas. It was made up of about 10,000 students throughout the state of Texas. The purpose of Pan Am was to promote Pan Americanism and give a better understanding of re- lations between the students of the United States and Latin American countries. The Pan Am club at Ray High School was a ser- vice organization to help the school and the community. It adopted two poor families during Thanksgiving and sponsored a pi- nata party for the children of the Carmelite Day Nursery. The club also contributed to state projects such as Pesos for Braces, Uni- cef, La Buena Madre Can orphan- age in Pachuca, Mexicoj, and the Myrtle Tanner Scholarship. They also gave a local scholarship to a student interested in continuing the study of Spanish. The club was open to all students at W. B. Ray. I fic-x .34 QC 5 V!
