The team's first loss was senior end, Charles Stewart; he broke his foot before the first game. We won our first game with craig, but Jim Connelly and Jim Cummings were injured. We lost our second game with Riverton, and at the same time lost a valuable kick-off man with Wally Tuel moving. Gary Hall, Skip O'Melia, and Daryl Firestone were hurt in the game we lost to Cheyenne East. Coach Connor head coach Coach Maffoni line coach Coach Hittner backfield coach Robbie O'Connell John Hopkins Terry O'Connor With 2-7 Season Our next two games were lost to Evanston and Cheyenne Central. We beat St. Mary's of Cheyenne, lost to Casper, and ended the season with a loss to Rock Springs. For what our country is tomorrow Depends on them right now. 22 Future Nurses Seeking Success— Future Nurses of Rawlins High Set their goals and standards high, For they are governed by this rule; More nurses-Fewer people die. So they all work at the hospital (You’ve probably seen their Candy stripes!) And look forward to the day When they will work there dressed in white. Yes, these girls have chosen a career That requires both soul and mind; But their reward for nursing Will be of great service to mankind . The senior editors aided by the juniors under them, tries to make the 1962-63 annual the best to ever come out of Rawlins High School. As May rolled around, the staff heard the word deadline with a pang and work to turn in finished pages began in earnest. Organized groups divided the numerous layouts and each one had classes, clubs, or sports to contend with. However, sponsor Mrs. Lander and co-editors Jon Caldwell and Judy Karpan kept their staff on their toes and somehow the Roundup for 62-63 was completed. Each editor was held responsible for the layout and the story, and of course, the pictures that were to go on his page. The editions of the Corral were really outstanding, being informative as well as entertaining. Special issues include the April Fool's Day issue and the issue honoring the seniors. The eleven principal editors worked enthusiastically on the paper to make it the success that it was. Many thank-yous go to the entire staff for a grand Outlaw Corral. 36 SPONSOR: Mrs. Goodwald Outlaw Cagers Finish V With 13-7 Record Coach Hittner The Outlaw basketball team, led by co-captains, Gary Hall and Earl Kinchloe, proved to be a hustling team, ending with a 13-7 season record. Some of our outstanding games consisted of heartbreaking losses to Laramie (50-53) and Rock Springs (66-67), Highlighted by 2 wins over University Prep (45-41; and 65-62, in a double overtime) and a win over Star Valley (51-37). The basketball season ended for us at the Regional tournament in Cheyenne; we lost our first game to Rock Springs (41-35) and were eliminated by our second loss to Cheyenne East (73-62).
