Senior Class History In 1942 a new group of students entered Rawlins High as Freshmen. Being eager to cope with the older and more advanced classes, we chose Raymond Tickner as our class president. We achieved many things during the year, one being the Freshman Reception. The following year we were Sophomores and now more advanced. As before, we elected a person who we knew would lead our class to many achievements. It was our decision that Catherine Ingram was most capable. During our second year, many activities were held—among these was the traditional Freshman Return. The year was, in our eyes, very successful. The next year one could spot us far down the hall as we were now Juniors. We were classi-1 fied as being well along in school. Robert Van Deusen was elected president for the class. He was very industrious in working out many new ideas which were put into effect during that year. The Junior Prom was given in pomp and splendor as the final achievement of the year. Well, the big day finally arrived. We were the big men and women of Rawlins High School! We were Seniors and proud of it. For the first time in our class history we took first prize in the Outlaw Float Parade. We also contributed a great deal to the athletics of the school. The Seniors were dominant in football and basketball, many of the boys having played in their Sophomore and Junior years. On April 12, the Senior Ball was given in the school gym. It should be said, too, that the success during our Senior year is due a great deal to the splendid work of Paul Devine, our class president, and Robert Van Deusen, the student body president. The Seniors would like to say that they have enjoyed every minute of their high school years and wish to express their regards to the faculty, superintendent and principal of Rawlins High.
