Wild Horse Race... ...National'Honor Society The National Honor Society was first organized in April, 1934, by thirteen students. In each of the following years since that time, five per cent of the Junior Class and ten per cent of the Senior Class have been recipients of this honor. These students must be in the upper third of the class with an average of eighty-five per cent or more. Their membership is based upon character, sex-vice, leadership and scholarship. The symbol of the National Honor Society is the lighted torch of learning. It is up to each of those selected to keep this torch high and aflame. The tenth annual assembly for initiation into the circle was a thrilling occasion for four Juniors and seven Seniors. These people, plus the four students who entered last year, boosted the membei-ship to seventeen. The local chapter is sponsored by Mr. Moyer and is counseled by Miss Thode, Mrs. Werne and Mr. Rothenberger. This paper is a product of the student’s works and feelings and it is a record of the school’s monthly activities. Our school paper, “The Outlaw Corral”, is published monthly by a staff composed chiefly of Senior Students. Much time and work is given by the staff and our Sponsor, Miss Insley, to the publication of the paper and we hope that our efforts were not in vain.
