5'L'W.90I25' Ol' FICERS Don Burback Presldent I' red Roberts Representatlx e Charles Chancellor Tleasurer Pill Sullms Secretary loslc Lacf-r Hays Sponsol glass Mstoty A number of vears ago four to be exact 110 sturdy ploneers started on a four vear yournex into the vas' wllderness of hlgher educatlon We traveled ln five covered wagons Algebra Engllsh I atm History and Phx SICRI Trammg About the second w ee'1 of traxel we w ere stopped by a sax age group of Indlans called Sophomores and a battle was waged on the Court House lawn At the end of mne months of hard work and cold weather we declded to rest so we departed for a small vlllage Vacatlon In September we agaln started our 1ourney feelmg stronger and more powerful for we had now won the name of Sophomore We were no longer on entlrely new ground and were proud of that fact After an other mne months we were agaln exhausted and declded to rest once more calling our camp Recreation Tlred of belng men and women of leisure we started movlng fo1 vard thls tlme as Jumors Thls vear of travel was the most successful vear that we had as vet covered We got our class rlngs and pms Next tne Ploneers enjoyed the successful Class play Llfe Begms at Sxxteen Nlear the end of our 1ourne5 we met a band of frlendly Indlans called Senlors and we had a splendld celebratlon callmg lt the Jumor Senlor Banquet and Prom It was held m a vxllage called Rawlms and took place ln an adobe mn the MHSOHIC Temple and 1n the stampmg ground of the mgh school gym We declded that this was an approprlate tlme to rest so we pltched camp for the last tlme We called our camp Three Months of Lelsure because we knew that we would have llttle tlme for vacatlon after we reached our goal GF3-dllatlOl1 Llvxng up to the name of our camr we agam started forward about Septembel 7 1940 Th1s year we adopted Semors for our t1tle and be came the leaders of a paper called Outlaw Corral and a year book whlch we called The Roundup 'lhe drum ma1orettes the flrst ones ever had by our school led the hlgh school band on Vlav 17 for the last tlme on our vournev Our gallant orators ended thelr hugh school career ln Publxc Spealung nn Aprll 1941 The athletes of our group have turned ln thenr sults for the other Ploneers to use they hate vacated the Outlaw Arena for them The heau burdens on our trlp WCIL lightened by the Semor Pioneers nn the band Each day we were nearing, our d0Stll1dl.lOll feeling both happy and sad at the same tlme Our hearts seemed to be too large for our chests and the sensatlon was so quec r somfthmg, we nu er had felt before Elghteen dass before we reached the long antlclpated end of our gourncv we pre ented the play The Ghost Tram Mr Clme dlrected thls most thrllln g plav for us Two days before our commencement we were oxertaken by a large band of Indlans called Jumors However thev were peaceful 'Ind that 9X6l1lIlg gave us a w onderlul Jumor Semor Banquet and Prom On May 28 1941 we reached our goal Graduatlon thus was con eluded a werv eventful Journey through the once unknown lands of Hlgh School Frances Olson O ll 1 i 1 1 K.
