The Roundup 1936 SCHOLASTIC HONORS VALEDICTORIAN AND SALUTATORIAN The Valedictorian and Salutatorian are elected from the Senior Class. This year these awards go to Ada Hadsell, Valedictorian, and Katherine Rasmusson, Salutatorian. The other honor students are Ruth Stratton, Lester Erb, Erma Platt, Anna Branch, Louise Bruning, and Max Foster. msg m NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY The National Honor Society was first organized in April, 1934. Fifteen per cent of the senior class and five per cent of the Junior Class are elected to this organization each year. Students are elected to this society by a rating in regard to scholarship, service and leadership. The present members who were elected from last year’s junior class are Max Foster, LaNez Welsh, and June Measures. Those who received this high honor this year are Ruth Stratton, Louise Bruning, Margaret Nelson, Lester Erb, Winifred Lynn, Ada Hadsell, Katherine Rasmusson, Norman Stratton, Jean Stratton, Paul Linke, and Evalvn Robertson. THE CITIZENSHIP HONOR PLAQUE The Citizenship Honor Plaque is given to the boy and girl who are considered to rank highest in scholarship, loyalty, and achievement. This year the awards go to Katherine Rasmusson and Max Foster. B. P. W. AWARDS The B. P. W. award goes to the Senior girl who has the highest commercial standing. This year the award will go to Louise Bruning. LIONS SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS Beginning this year, the Lions Club will award medals to the boys with the highest standings in each of the three lower classes. These medals will go to LeRov Bunten, Junior; James Stauss, Sophomore; and Robert Warriner, Freshman. P. E. O. SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS Each year the Rawlins Chapter of the P. E. 0. awards a medal to the girl with the highest average in her class. This award is given in each of the lower classes. The girls who will receive the P. E. 0. awards this year are Jean Stratton, Junior; Juanita Arnold, Sophomore; and Virginia Beebe, Freshman.
