The Roundup 1936 FRESHMAN CLASS HISTORY CLASS OFFICERS Tom Michie President Walter Paris Vice President Donald Urban Secretary-Treasurer Catherine McDermott Class Representative Miss Winifred Carveth Sponsor We Freshmen, with Miss Carveth as our class sponsor, started our first year in high school in the manner that has become characteristic— our initiation coming on September 14, 1935. Our spirit remained undaunted, although we were “run through the mill” several times. We also painted the “R,” as is the custom, and that task completed our informal initiation. On October 4, we were greeted formally by the rest of R. H. S. at the Freshman Reception. Since we were then full-fledged “Freshies,” the class decided to give a return social affair. So the class gave a dance on November 8, and the other three classes were invited. This class, now as it leaves its dearly beloved title behind, is very grateful to the faculty, especially to Miss Carveth, who guided it through its most trying year of high school life. We hope we have gained sufficiently in stature and wisdom as not to be so trying during the next year. —Robert Warriner.
