The Roundup 1936 SOPHOMORE CLASS HISTORY CLASS OFFICERS James Stauss President Enid Shaw Vice President Billy LeMasters Secretary-Treasurer Kathleen MacKay Class Representative Mr. F. C. Rawlins Sponsor On September 4, 1934, we entered the Rawlins High School as Freshmen with Mr. Rawlins as our class sponsor. A meeting was held to elect our class officers. Those chosen were Merle Thomason, President; James Stauss, Vice President; Enid Shaw, Secretary-Treasurer; and Maurine O’Donnell, Class Representative. Our entrance was marked by the regular initiation, painting of the “R” without the supervision of the Sophomore Class, and the Reception Dance. On March 22 we were hosts to the other classes at a dance. As Sophomores we began our year by electing James Stauss, President; Enid Shaw, Vice President; Billy LeMasters, Secretary-Treasurer; and Kathleen MacKay, Class Representative. We gave the Freshman Reception Dance, and this affair was a great success. On February 13 we sponsored an assembly in the form of an amateur hour. Our Leap Year Dance held on Friday, March 13, also proved a decided success. With Mr. Rawlins as our sponsor, we have enjoyed our past two years immensely and anticipate our forthcoming years in high school with keen interest —Kathleen MacKay.
