The indian, a syrnboi oi courage, strength and honesty, has been the insigne oi Ravena-Coeymans-Seihiris Centrai ifiigh Schooi for about sixteen years. This insigne was chosen because the iroquois indians inhabited this area during the coionization oi our country. The quaiities which our indian symboi represents are made evident by the Centr ai indians in sports competition with other schoois and in our community. Their sports- man-iike attitude and their sense oi responsibiiity have been an exceiient exampie to others. Aithough they may not appear as evident, these quaiities are represented in aii our activities, which range from Varsity Ciub to Honor Society. We present the highiights oi our schooi year in Niernoirs '60. in doing so, we sin cereiy hope that the attributes signified by our indian syrnboi wiii be upheid andhonor ed KAREN SEUFERT Editor -in- Chief D-

9 Graduation represents what I hope will be regarded by each of you as a very im- portant event in your life. Its significance will depend largely upon what graduation means to you as an individual. To some it means the welcome end, the completion of a long and sometimes uneventful journeyf To others it is looked upon as the be- ginning, as representing a kind of induction into the world of adulthood, of work, of further education and of active, meaningful citizenship. The world we live in is changing rapidly. This imposes upon you many responsi- bilities, not the least of which is the awareness of change and the ability to adjust to it and cope with it. This is basically the challenge all people face. To the extent that you have been inspired to develop the quality of mind to be flexible and adaptable will you be equipped mentally to live productively and happily. The challenge of life and work, then, really begins upon graduation. I hope that you will often look back upon your experiences here with gratitude and the assurance that all of us who have served you have contributed significantly to your growth and development. - Good Luck!
