DALTON V. BAMBURY Citizenship Education XC MISS JANE CHWOROWSKY English FACU LTY MISS MARGARET CURRAN Commerce The faculty at R-C-S have helped to open many doors for us. They have been our guides throughout our school life. They have shown us the doors of knowledge, and each day has found us transported through a new realm of learning by our teachers. The members of the faculty not only guide us in our learning, but they also act as our class advisors and sponsor our extracurricular activities. We, the students at R-C-S, are thankful for the guidance we have received from the faculty in preparing us for the future. Their teaching and the example which they have set for us will continue to be of great assistance. K. 'Sa 1 , A I MR. DOMINIC DONATO MR. SENIORS Now that we are about to close the doors of R-C -S behind us, we review the past four years with ad- miration for both our school and our own class accomplishment. As freshmen, we were a small class, not very wise, but with much spirit. We functioned within ourselves, that is, we held our own private parties from time to time. Occasionally we sponsored a rol- ler skating party. ln our sophomore year Ravena opened its doors for us and for our classmates from Jericho and Albany Ravena held many joys for us, the class of '59 sponsored several successful dances. Individual members received numerous honors which reflected upon our class as a whole. Our junior year involved a lot of hard work, especially the selection of class rings. The biggest event of the year was the memorable Stairway to the Stars, our junior prom. Our class is not likely to forget the wonderful occasion, for we all worked extremely hard to make it a success. As Seniors, we began our final days at R-C-S by sponsoring several dances and selling Christmas cards. We look upon our commencement not as termination of our education but as an opening of the doors to the future and its boundless opportunities. Turner, Page, On Saturday evening, May 23. 1958. the Junior class had its annual Junior prom. The name of the prom was Stairway to the Stars and the attractive blue decorations set the nocturnal scene. Keith Whiter and his band played the music that the crowd en1oyed so much. As at every prom the crowd was a little tense while they patiently waited for 11:15. As Pomp and Circumstance was played, the former king and queen, Tommy Williams and Diane Lewanick, be- gan their march to the throne. They were followed by the Sophomore members of the court, then by the grand old Seniors, and finally came the Junior candidates for king and queen. After the customary aisle was formed. Diane and Tommy proceeded down the aisle and tapped the new king and queen, Alan Lockwood and Sally Williams. After Tommy and Diane relinquished their thrones, Alan and Sally and their court danced to the theme song, 'Stairway to the Stars. Soon the crowd vanished and all the pleasant memories of the prom of 1958 were tucked away, J Queen, Sally Williamsg King. Alan Lockwood Dancmg ID the clark D111 Momhousg ind Smdy 51111111 Olel 'A'-.
