We think our friends and classmates are the best. We leave as champions because of the many phases of our lives that have been enriched through our school experiences. I boys basketball varsity Ravena-Coeymans '50-'51 bas- ketball team, gunning for their sixth championship in seven years, started the season by defeating Columbia 52-41. The team was composed of such veterans as L. Alteri, J. Domanico, R. Clifford, B. Traver, L. Wilson and new- comers S. and G. Lipscomb, D. Pemberton, S. jones, R. Smeltzer, S. Dean and N. Backlund. R-C breezed by Roessleville, scoring 52-42, but in R-C's third game, an inspired Castleton team defeated us, 49-43. After this we topped Averill Park 46-35, lost to Beth- lehem Central 54-33, and went on to win over Coxsackie-Athens 41-36, Voorheesville 42-34, Co- lumbia 54-40, Roessleville 68-41, Castleton 67-47, and revenging earlier defeats to Averill Park and 60-45 and 54-37 respectively, Bethlehem Central 56-38. junior varsity The junior varsity Of 1950 had one of its best seasons. The team - composed of freshmen Sargant, sophomores Westervelt, Leigh, Sherman, Moore, jones, Craven, Persico, Sinnegin and Riccardo, juniors Palmer, Shea, Winters, Carrk, Zuk-started the season by defeating Columbia 38-33 and then proceeded to knock off Roes- sleville 36-18, Castleton 34-23 and Averill Park 61-16. They later met their match in Bethlehem Central when they lost 52-44. The team regained its winning seat by de- feating Coxsackie-Athens 31-19, Voorheesville 39-29, Columbia 40-35, Roessleville 50-30, Castle- 'ts 9.
