Junior Class '4Hard work got good results, said the juniors . . . how they rushed and worked to get 35100 for selling the most tickets to the Hallowe'en party! . . . bake sale brought in profits . . . gave annual Hillbilly Hop . . . Hazelton, leading steering committee, did shrewd planning . . . novel idea of carnival and dance in April . . . and those nylons . . . Corwinis pep talks and guidance of Mrs. Tisdelll, Miss Hourigan, and Miss Elliott were aiding factors . . . Klenk, Lounsbury, F. Adamo, and Francisco on cheerleading squad . . . Aluise, basketball star . . . concluded year with Junior Prom . . . graduated into upper classmen. First class that came up from Coeymans Junior High . . . largest class in senior high . . . Reggie Thorne, one of All-stars . . . class represented in Varsity and Jayvee basketball team as well as cheerleading . . . defeated juniors in the Red Cross benefit basketball finals . . . did not do much first part' of year in way of activities . . . became activity conscious after Easter and sponsored a round and square dance in May . . . profitable Strawberry Shindig in June . . . year saddened by passing away of Richard King. Three UR's'l only part of work . . . class built a sphinx and pyramids while studying Egypt and the Nile . . . made picture maps of the British Isles . . . while work was reviewed, class made miniature scenes representing customs found in different countries . . . November saw bloom of dramatic ability in presentation of 'SA Bunlch of Keysn . , . David Craven, Junior Paretta, Bob Nunzberg, Kenneth Wlilsey star basketball players . . . suffered defeat at' hand of Hfth grade with scores of 16-8 and 20-8 . . . baseball season happy relief from regular school work. Grade under excellent guidance of Mrs. Wallace and Mrs. VVagoner . . . Adapted play of their own from Rumpelstiltskin', and presented it at P.T.A. . . . buildng of log cabin social studies project in fall . , . after Christmas, entire class worked on table display showing winter at' Valley Forge . . . several told stories of Lincoln in assembly program . . . biggest thrill when homeroom basketball team trounced sixth grade. Verse choir displayed talents in assemblies, Christmas Pageant and Spring Concert . . . unit on China resulted in Chinese murals . . . learned some Chinese writing . . . made Chinese kites . . . purchased albums, The jungle Book, 'cTuby the Tuba, and HThe King Who Couldn't Dance . . , each one made a memory book of favorite pictures, stories, and poems . . . St. Paitrick's Day program most fun . . . boys in Why the Shamrock Grew . . . girls sang and danced Irish jig . . . Gayle Snyder soloist for An Irish Lullaby' '... interesting posters on Indians adorned second grade room. Seniors of ,57 and '58 . . . sawing, hammering, and building stores or play- houses . . . took a trip to railroad station where little ones experimented on telegraph equipment and saw train dispatcher in progress . . . toured Dayle,s restaurant, Marshall's garage and the principal's office in an effort to understand type of work done by fathers . . . rhythm band was a lot of fun, and the favorite piece was g'Amaryllis . . . everyone excited over assembly program . . . sang songs and recited poems on different toys . . . at all times, tots trained to be the good citizens of tomorrow.
