Boys' Basketball The guidance of head coach Mr. Rich- ard Sherman and the play of juniors T.J. 0'Donnell, Tom Seegar, Mike Clarke and Ian I-lills, along with senior captain Gerry Connolley propelled the Rockets to a 13-12 overall record and a birth in the Group Ill state playoffs. After opening the season with a cou- ple of tough losses, the Rockets caught fire. They rolled through the competi- tion in the Bayshore Holiday Tourna- ment to capture their second consecu- tive crown. The Rockets continued their streak as they won 9 out of their first 13 con- tests, thus qualifying for a birth in the state playoffs. As the season came to a close, the competition got tougher and the boys finished with a 12-11 final regu- lar season record. The team then pre- pared for the state playoffs and defeat- ed J.F.K Iselin 81 t0 79, but then lost to Bridgewater-Raritan-West 74-47 and thusly were eliminated from the state tournament. All together it was a great year in basketball.
