Girls' Gymnastics A young, Eine, experienced team blossomed and matured to become a more competative team, explained Mr. Richard Sherman, coach of the girls' gymnastics team. Sue Kelly, girls' assistant, was another aid to the girls' competative spirit. Junior co-captains, Kelly Barra and Cecily Bruno, assisted the team to a 2-7 record at the close of the 1987 season. Although, no individual gym- nast made Shore Conferences or State Sectionals, Cecily Bruno tumbled her way to placing first in all four events during a single meet. Wrestling Top: Kevin Leckner, Vinny McGowan, Mike Rocco, John Arndt, Mike Tomasiello, Phil 0'neill Zndg: Kevin Pladl, Kevin 0'Mally, Pe- ter Krauss Chrissy Kiley and Joann Eltringham With nine returning letter-winners, this year's team hoped to improve upon last season's 7-10 record, and that they did compiling an 8-5-1 overall record. Raritan's mat-men began their season by placing third in the Lenape Valley and Point Pleasant tourna- ment. In the Dual Meet season the Rockets would have to settle for a 3rd place finish in the B-North Confer- ence. Then came the Districts.
