Karen Waterfield, Jeanie Loudenslager, Sophronia Baylor, Debbie Pierson, Captain; Betty Eason. The 1972-73 school year was a most exciting one for the cheering squad. Six young ladies used every available opportunity to encourage the athletic teams. To prepare themselves for the job of pro¬ moting school spirit they attended the Cheering Clinic held at Marassas, Virginia. There they learned new cheers and stunts and benefited from having learned of various techniques to boost stu¬ dent interest in the athletic contest. Later they attended the Cheerleader’s Camp held at Old Dominion College and proved to be most interest¬ ing. The real highlight of the year was the spirit week. During this time, there were quiet days, dress days, class chains and other activities all designed to encourage support of our school teams. The cheering squad enjoyed the year and felt it contributed to “Raider Spirit.” Our cheerleaders continue through the wind and cold. Cheerleaders feel the spirit. Dee, Dee, our lost cheerleader. This year the Library has added many new books, other aids, and a copying machine. These additions greatly aid the students. The Club offered a Library Science Scholarship to any student interested in continuing his educa¬ tion in this field. The club also observed National Library Week and Children Book Week. The annual Book Fair was very successful and the proceeds wnet into the Library Science Schol¬ arship Fund. The members of the Library Club have learned the values of reading and have devoted themselves to teaching it to others. The Library Club has an efficient staff of stu¬ dents working under the direction of the head librarian, Mrs. Booker. 57 Band And Madrigals Express Themselves With Music First Row, L. to R.: M. Among these events were the Christmas and Spring Concerts. This year the Band received their new band uniforms. They got their money for the uni¬ forms from donations and shows that were given at the school. The Band still owes some money on the uniforms. The Band participated in the Warsaw Parade and also assisted the Seniors in the Senior Play. “The Young And The Restless” UNDER CLA SSMEN 59 Juniors Get Closer To The End JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS: Chip Delano, Reporter; Janet Veney, Secretary; Mark Dungan, President; Susan Loundenslager, Vice- President; and Maxwell Blue, Treasurer.
