CUR PRINCIPAL . . . Mr. James N. Stover, Principal To the Student Body: May I take this opportunity to say a few words to both our graduating class and underclass¬ men. We have just finished our first year in Rappahannock High School, and I wish to congratulate all of you on the progress made to date. As you know, we had a rough start, with half of our stu¬ dent body in one school, and the other half in another. We met for the first time as a group on November 5, and by November 6, no one could realize that we were a new school. We have had an outstanding year in extracurricular activities, and several of our students have won honors on both a local and state-wide basis. You have developed a feeling of harmony, and the school atmosphere is genial and whole¬ some. Next year we shall start off in September in our new school, and we shall field a football team for the first time. We hope to add other activities as the demand arises, and we hope it is not too long before we have a band to represent our school. May I say, join in the school activi¬ ties, become a part of the school, and support your school in all of its endeavor. A precedent is being established in this, the first year at Rappahannock. It involves each student, and you have helped establish this precedent. You have an obligation to yourself, your family, and your fellow students to make every moment and action count. We look forward to the year 1963-64 in the hopes that it will bring forth more richness in the field of education for all of our students. In closing I say - have a pleasant summer and be ready next yearto settle down and do a good job. To our seniors, whom we shall miss, may I say good luck in whatever undertaking you decide on and best wishes for the future. James N. Stover, Principal
