TRACK HIGHLIGHTS OF '52 The 1952 track season turned out a big success as Rankin placed in several track meets and won three trophies during the season Rankin placed frrst m the Vermilron County Class B Track Meet held at George town Event winners were Uvhley Chnstensen, 3rd QShot Puty Schaeffer lst and Trimble 4th fl-hgh Jumpj tre between Erghner and Starr for th1rd place QDiscusJ Sloan lst 1Broad lumpy Starr, 3rd The tracksters received the mrle relay trophy at the North Vermrlron Track Meet as Ed Frichtl Karl Leach Earl Chnstensen and Wendell Starr won fust in the event The Frosh Sophomore team were victors and wmners of the frrst place rn the Frosh Sophomore North Vermrlron County Meet at Potomac The letter winners for the season Carl Schaeffer Wendell Starr Charles Tumble Allen Watson Earl Christensen, Martin Clementz Terry Sloan and Ed Fnchtl In recent years track has come to the front rn R.
