Their tasks are many and varied and range from habitability items such as installing wood panelling in the Crew's Lounge to keeping the ship afloat in battle conditions. Led by their mentor, CWO Ted Chips Ewers, a skilled carpenter and wainright himself, the R Division men stand ready to save their ship in case of fire, collision, nuclear attack or any other emergency. Part of their iob is also to teach their fellow crew members about the safety procedures for all types of dangerous situations. During an engagement, the men of R Division will be the first to battle flames and water in their fight for sur- vival at sea. To them goes our honor and wholehearted respect, f. The storekeepers issued 520,000 worth of consumables and 5 l5,000 worth of repair parts. The commissarymen outflid the storekeepers by serving up 5TT0.00 worth of food. The biggest expense in running the ship, however, was paying the crew. The disbursing office paid out over 5300,000 on the T0 paydays during the cruise!
