Old Schools i THE LAKER'S HALL We take for granted she’ll always be there, Allowing us happiness, with loving care. Is it just a building and nothing more? Nonsense! Step with me through her door. Her colors may lack appealing zest. The wood and brickwork, not the best. She was built, remember, in another age. The origin listed on a history page. The staircase offers passage up or down. Worn through decades as footfalls ground. Students who hurry to change a class Have many times over, this pass. We stand in the gym as many have done. Remember the good times and all the fun? If you're quiet we'U hear cheers from the past As Lakers of old fight to the last. Glance 'round the library and pride will swell, The trophies you see have stories to tell. The shelf, a place where pasts belong A memory left when a triumph is gone. On January 30 a bell will toll Ending one era with a brand new goal. With expectant sadness one recalls The closeness and laughter of her old halls. Sad? Yes, but not the final tone. For now walk with me through the Laker's new home. Spirit and tradition of the green and gold Will write a new chapter to the story told. by Steve Brewer The New School 3 IN MEMORIAM 4 DEDICATION A SHORT COURSE IN HUMAN RELATIONS The six most important words: 'T admit I made a mistake. The five most important words: You did a good job. The four most important words: What is your opinion?” The three most important words: If you please. The two most important words: Thank you. The one most important word: We The least important word: I. The class of 1978 dedicates this edition of the TATTLER to Elizabeth Hunger. Through our four years of high school we have felt Mrs. Hunger's concern for each student. She intro- duced us to the parts of speech and a variety of writ- ers . Mrs. Hunger has chaperoned our dances and cor- rected our grammar. She helped us develop a pride in ourselves and our school. She has shown concern for the emotional maturing of her students as well as their educational gains. The class of '78 also respects her ability to employ a certain cat to do her typing and invent those tests! From the Class of 1978, thanks. 5 Administration and Staff Mr. Geoffrey Richards - Superintendent-Principal MaryAnne Marquis - Secretary Denise Scutt - Secretary Tina Page - Student Activities Kathy Anderson - Sub.
