IN ADIDIQECIATI N After twenty-one years of faithful service as superinten- dent of the Rangeley schools and Union No. 37, Mr. Irish last fall was forced to resign because of ill health. A firm believer in the dignity of the individual, he always main- tained a helpful and co-operative attitude toward his tea- chers and was ever concerned for their welfare and for that of the schools. A progressive thinker, he was well aware that man is but a reed, the most feeble thing in nature, but a thinking reed. All our dignity con.sists in thought. By it we must ele e ourselves, and not by space and time which we cannot' ll. Minds are not conquered by love and gen- erosity. And it is thus that we think of Arthur Irish, as we wish hirn and Mrs. Irish, and Margaret and Iimmy the best of luck in the years to come.
