Speakers were members of the Athletic Council Coach Stephens, Dr. H. B. Pannill, and Mr. George Compton. The new athletic plant cost 450,000 and has a seating capacity of 3,000. It is fitting that in the Hrst year of the new gym the basketball team won the Mason-Dixon Championship. .Wx

PAUL E. WEBB, JR. has be- come one of Virginia's out- standing basketball coaches. In nine years his teams have won 159 and lost only 75 games. His 1965 squad won the Mason-Dixonfchampionship for the first time in the school's history. His teams have been Little Eight champs for the past five years. His cross coun- try record is 14-33-1 and he has a 4-7 ledger in track. At- tended WSLM. HELMUT WERNER is in his third year as head soccer and tennis coach. His overall re- cord in soccer is 11-20-2 and in tennis his record is 22-6-2 with his 1964 team bringing home the Mason-Dixon cham- pionship. He is also head swimming coach. Attended Lynchburg. The Coaches THEODORE S. KELLER completed his first year as head football coach after serv- ing as an assistant for six years. His squad won only three of nine games, but there were only two seniors on the team. He has served as the head of the intramural sports program and also was head track coach for Eve years. At- tended R-MC. The trophies standing in the new showcase attest to the strength of the Randolph-Macon athletic teams ofthe past and present. Room remains for the teams of the future. 4 1 4 .
