n emoriam ALEXANDER H. WORNOM, JR. January 3, 1939-May 9, 1957 Sandy,7 Wornoin died on May 9, 1957, just eighteen years old. A cadet at R.-lVl.A. for two years, '6Sandy'7 might have been a senior in 1957, but had decided to take an additional year of prep school work to better prepare himself for college. He would have been a member of the Senior Class of 1958. A tall, strong, physically active young man, he was a cadet platoon sergeant, a varsity swimmer, and a member of the varsity football team. 4'Sandy77 was active in youth affairs at his church. both at his home in Warwick, Virginia, and in Front Royal. Everyone recognized him as a leader. His friendly, Cheerful disposition and hard-working energy strengthened his popularity. A Sandy Wornom Me- morial Fund has been established to choose a fitting memorial to this outstanding young man, whose loss has been greatly felt at Randolph-Macon.
