RO-HAWKS CLAW THE SOUTHSIDE CARDINALS The Ro-Hawks rambled over the Southside Cardinals for their second district win, 44-2. The Cardinals only score came on a isafety. The scoring was led by Tex Allshouse, starting quarterback, and Steve Swinney, substitute. Allshouse scored on two runs of 58 and 24 yards, Terry Fox and Tom Roberdeau added the conversions. Steve Swinney passed three scores to fullback James Meredith, end Steve Griem, and starting end Ted Draper. Draper also scored by recovering a fumble in the end Zone. P l The Ro-Hawk defense was again superb as guard Mike Fitzpatrick, linebacker Bruce Cannon, and Rick Troberman, and end Ted Draper led the surge allowing no Cardinal touchdowns. The Ro-Hawks are ready! The Second Team gets into the action. Terry Fox breezes by a cardinal. Quarterback Allshouse breaks into open field. 169

COLE COUGARS STUNNED BY RO-HAWKS The mighty Ro-Hawks began district play by crushing their traditional rivals, the Cole Cougars, 30 -O. The offense and de- fense were equally powerful as the Ro-Hawks completely outplayed the Cougars. Tailback Tom Roberdeau scored twice on power-sweeps, substitute tailback Terry Fox and Fullback Jim Meredith both scored one each. Tackle Bruce Cannon recov- ered a fumble setting a safety up for the Ro-Hawks. David Bergquist also recovered a fumble that set up the final Ro-Hawk score. As usual, the defense excelled by shutting out the Cougars and was led by Chris Hansmen, Ian Baumgardner, and Stev Griem. Fleet-footed tailback Terry Fox flies behind the head -splitting blocking of the Ro-Hawks. Meredith gives Cougar the hands off signal. Cannon and Bice disassemble Cougar. 168 Blood-thirsty Ro-Hawk defenders make Cougar halfback climb the wall.

RO-HAWKS WALLOP BOERNE GREYHOUNDS The Ro-Hawks chalked up another district win by crushing the Greyhounds of Boerne by a modest score of 38-0. Jim Meredith was the games leading rusher with 90 yards. He started the scoring for the Hawks on a 7 yard scamper. Others who contri- buted in the scoring category were Tex Allshouse, Ted Draper, who caught two long bombs from Steve Sweeny of 73 yards anc 36 yards, and sophomore Paul Baumgardner. The defense, which literally smashed the Greyhounds, was led by linebackers Rick Troberman, and Bruce Cannon, guards Chris I-lansmen and Mike Fitzpatrick, and tackle Jimmy Fleming. Tex Allshouse makes evasive cut as heave action takes place on the line. Eh. Allshouse rears around corner behind block- ing of Chris Hanseman.
