COLE COUGARS STUNNED BY RO-HAWKS The mighty Ro-Hawks began district play by crushing their traditional rivals, the Cole Cougars, 30 -O. The offense and de- fense were equally powerful as the Ro-Hawks completely outplayed the Cougars. Tailback Tom Roberdeau scored twice on power-sweeps, substitute tailback Terry Fox and Fullback Jim Meredith both scored one each. Tackle Bruce Cannon recov- ered a fumble setting a safety up for the Ro-Hawks. David Bergquist also recovered a fumble that set up the final Ro-Hawk score. As usual, the defense excelled by shutting out the Cougars and was led by Chris Hansmen, Ian Baumgardner, and Stev Griem. Fleet-footed tailback Terry Fox flies behind the head -splitting blocking of the Ro-Hawks. Meredith gives Cougar the hands off signal. Cannon and Bice disassemble Cougar. 168 Blood-thirsty Ro-Hawk defenders make Cougar halfback climb the wall.
