L Liii!Uit Trim MIMl The Randolph High School Band started off their 1985-86 year by playing halftime shows for the home football games and at the Dakota Dome. They also performed in the Harvest of Harmony Parade in Grand Island. The pep band played at twenty-three athletic events including NENAC, Districts, and State Tournaments. Julie Carstens, Becky Lackas, Chuck Gubbels, Michelle Coenen, Melissa Coe-nen, Jamie Redinbaugh, Troy Taylor, Tyl- er Osborn, Sandi Kollars, Mike Riedmil ler, and Tige Jones took part in the Wayne State Honor Band Festival. Julie Carstens was selected as a member of the MENC Clinic All-State Honor Band. The Symphonic Band made many appearances this year including: Veteran’s Day, Christmas Concert, Spring Concert, All-School Band Concert, Graduation, and Memorial Day. Finally, the marching band performed at the Centennial Parade. Results in District 3 Music Contest Instrumental were: Julie Carstens (flute)-1; Tyler Osborn (Trumpet)-1; Becky Lackas (flute)-2; Jamie Redinbaugh (oboe)-2; Shelly Wattier (clarinet)-2; Missy Coenen (clarinet)-2; Sandi Kollars (french horn)-2; Eric Pentico (alto sax)-2; Shari Dibbert (baritone sax)-2; Sandi Kollars (piano)-2. The band had a great year. 25

Students grades 10-12 with a G.P.A. of 85% or higher are eligible for consideration into the National Honor Society. Each student who wishes to be considered for membership is asked to fill out a short resume. The faculty votes on each applicant by a rating system of 1 to 4 (4 being the highest) on each of four areas: Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. To be in the National Honor Society the student must have an overall average of 12 points. Inductees-Front Row: Christy Carpenter, Amy Alderson, Angie Speer, Jamie Redinbaugh.
