Third Row: Valerie McDonald (Reporter), Staci Nordhues (Secretary). FHA started out their 1985-86 school year by attending District Convention in Allen, Nebraska in November. Patti Milander and Christy Carpenter both ran for state officer candidates, Patti was elected. In January, the following awards were given for SEARCH participants on their presentations: Missy Coenen-silver, Kelly Gerkins-silver, Christy Carpenter-silver, and Patti Milander-silver. Both the senior and junior divisions of the parlilmentary procee-dure teams received top golds and were given the chance to go to state to compete. Throughout the year, extra activities took place to raise money to help these people and the new officers, who were chosen in March, pay for their trip to Lincoln. But, because of the weather conditions, they were unable to attend the State Convention. The following people were chosen as officers for the 1986-87 school year: Presi-dent-Patti Milander, Vice President-Staci Nordhues, Secretary-Treasurer-Val McDonald, Parlimentarian-Patti McCarthy, Historian-Christy Carpenter, and Reporter-Marcy Reineke. Another main project worked on throughout the year was the block mother project. The following awards were given at the FHA banquet held in May: Outstanding Freshman-Stephanie Brunssen, Outstanding Sophomore-Staci Nordhues, Outstanding Junior-Patti Milander, Outstanding Senior-Mary Schaefer, President Award-Deb Milander, Special Member Award-Veronique Vrydagh, District V Officer-Christy Carpenter. 19
