The Junior Class performed the play “No More Homework,” on November 25 and 26 with Mr. Bradley as their sponsor. Voted as best actress and actor were Brenda Meyer and Steve Shaffer with Kristie Borst and Doyle Brunssen as best supporting actress and actor. On March 1,1986, four students, Shari Dibbert, Bonnie Fish, Jackie Borst, and Patti McCarthy, participated in the NEN-AC Speech Contest at Neligh. Shari gave an oral interpertation of poerty on “Love and Happiness” and an informative speech on Domestic Violence. She received two excellents; she also gave an extemporaneous speech on the U.N. and received an excellent. Patti gave an oral interpertation of poetry on the theme “Inspiration and Self-Identity” and received an excellent. Patti also gave an extemporaneous speech on Toxic Waste and received a Superior. On March 18, 1986, the speech team was to travel to Hartington for the District Contest but was unable to attend due to weather conditions. On January 18, 1986, the Randolph High School hosted the District One-Act Play Contest. The RHS speech class performed “Reunion on Gallows Hill”and received an excellent. The following people were in the cast: Janice Carpenter,. Bonnie Fish, Jackie Borst, Kerry Robinson, Vicki May, Brenda Meyer, Deb Milander, Trish McFadden, Shari Dibbert, Patti McCarthy and Laurie Whitehorn. 14
