They have many activities to keep them busy throughout the year, such as candy sales, babysitting for the parents teachers conferences, spirit week for Homecoming, school dances, and an Easter egg hunt. This was a good year for F.H.A. they had many activates such as search recognition events held in Wayne. They also attended District Convention at Wakefield, and Randolph girls were in charge of a skit at Districts. They co-sponsored the Sweetheart dance with F.F.A. The theme for the dance was “Time will Reveal.” Cheri Stevens was elected as a state officer and attended the F.H.A. National Leadership Convention in Chicago. F.H.A. OFFICERS. The first event was the Slave Auction which is held every year. The next event was the Chapter Creed Speaking Contest for the freshmen. Doyle Brunssen received first place. Two money making projects the FFA Chapter was involved with were working in the concession stand and selling fruit. The Chapter participated in the District Contests. Several of the groups are pictured on these two pages. The ones that are not pictured are listed here: District Creed Speaking — Doyle Brunssen - red; District Livestock Judging — Dennis Backer, Kelly Thieman, Francis Bermel, Joe Thelen, Eric Frederick, Brian Korth, Joey Huwaldt, Tom Biernbaum. The FFA also sponsored the Sweetheart Ball along with the FHA. Larry Sohler and Michelle Tunink were crowned king and queen. The State Convention in Lincoln was attended by the officers and the Chapter sponsor, Dennis Bazata. During the awards banquet in May the following awards were given: FFA Greenhand Degree — Tom Biernbaum, Doyle Brunsen, Steve Haslehorst, Joey Huwaldt, Ricky Nordhues, Eric Pentico, Jim Rath, Corby Robinson, Dan Thelen; FFA Star Greenhand — Doyle Brunssen; FFA Chapter Farmer Degree — Jeff Backer, Mark Bloomquist, Eric Frederick, Gary Gubbels, John Gubbels, Loren Isom, Paul Koehler, Brian Korth, Mike Schmit.
