Senior Class History of 1977 In the fall of 1973, 76 students entered R.H.S. as freshmen. We began our freshman year by electing Cindy Eddie, President; Betty Bloomquist, Vice-President; Susie Kiser, Secretary-Treasurer; Joanie Kruger and Randy Borst, Student Council Representatives. We ended the year with a class party. As we returned from summer vacation the sophomore class started right off with the election of class officers. Tom Lackas was elected President; Ted Fuchs, Vice-President; Ryan Whitehorn, Secretary-Treasurer; Karen Dwyer and Cindy Eddie, Student Council Representatives under the supervision of our class sponsors, Mr. Ray Schnell and Mr. Jim Baker. In April we were all excited about the ordering of our class rings. As juniors a busy year in which many plans needed to be made. We held class elections of which produced our competent officers, Karen Dwyer, President; Kevin Buell, Vice-President; Marla Sellon, Secretary-Treasurer; Ted Fuchs and Debbie Robinson, Student Council Representatives. The Junior representatives of the Sweetheart Ball were Brad Barg-stadt and Debbie Robinson. On May 1 we honored the Seniors with the Junior-Senior Banquet and Dance. Our theme was “Stairway to Heaven” with music furnished by Spectre. Joanie Kruger was crowned queen of the 1976 prom. On August 30, 1976 we started our final year as Seniors. Throughout the leadership of our sponsors, Mr. Ray Schnell and Mr. Jim Baker we elected Mark|Biernbaum, President; Tom Lackas, Vice-President; Ramona Brunssen, Secretary-Treasurer; Ted Fuchs and Dale Loberg, Student Council Representatives. The first major event for the year was Homecoming in which our fellow classmates, Vernon Heese and Marla Sellon, were chosen to reign on the throne. In January we were all excited as we ordered our announcements, thank you cards and other keepsakes such as class keys, and memory books. In February, fellow classmates Rick Backer and Darlene Janssen were chosen as the King and Queen of the FFA and FHA Sweetheart Ball. The music was furnished by Quazy. As spring neared we anxiously awaited the honorary Junior-Senior Banquet, which was held on April 30th. The theme was “We May Never Pass This Way Again.” Rick Alderson was chosen king for the 1977 prom. Baccalaureate and Commencement exercises marked the end of the year for the Seniors. As we Seniors pass through these doors for the last time we look back at all the good times as well as the bad times we’ve experienced at R.H.S. We appreciate the time and effort the faculty and administration went through to present us with a much needed education. We would like to give special recognition to our 13 year students at R.H.S. who are: Rick Aider-son, Rick Backer, Ginger Burgel, Dave Clark, Jim Cunningham, Tami Gosch, Vernon Heese, Jan Kluver, Joanie Kruger, Linda Kruse, Kevin Patent, Marla Sellon, Roberta Sellon, Karen Stevens, and Laurrie Weber. Now that our education at R.H.S. is over we “CHERISH OUR YESTERDAYS, DREAM OUR TOMORROWS AND LIVE OUR TODAYS.” 16
