1975 Class History Tonight as we are about to graduate from RHS, we can reflect back with pride upon our past four years of high school. Our Freshman year began with 72 of us, under the leadership of Dwight Rossbach as President, Vice-President Fred Sporleder, and Secretary-Treasurer Jeff Slattery. With the help of our class sponsors, Mr. List and Mr. Blec-ha, our float won first place during Homecoming activities. During the spring we traveled to Lincoln as the basketball team participated in the State Tournament, though we were defeated in the initial game. The year was climaxed by a class party. Seventy-two Sophomores elected Cindy Squawk Van Auker President, Cindy Tunink Vice-President, Gale Kruger Secretary-Treasurer, and Jeff Slattery and Mag Wattier, Student-Council. Mr. Osborn and Mr. Peterson guided our group. Ordering our class rings was important to us because it marked our becoming Juniors. As Juniors, elections produced President Patty Delong, Vice-President Lonnie Bermel, Secretary-Treasurer Dal Gerkins, and Student Council Members Krista Young and Cindy Van Auker. Sponsorship was provided by Mr. Osbom, Mr. Peterson, and Miss Hughes. The highlight of the year came in May when we honored die seniors with a banquet. Theme for the prom was Seasons in the Sun. A member of our class, Gale Kruger, was crowned queen at the dance. And this our senior year is the year which has made it all worthwhile. We began by choosing Roger Pedersen as our President, Vice-President is Lynette Backhaus, Secretary-Treasurer is Suzanne Rhode, and Gary Kruse and Gwen Lackas served as Student Council Representatives. Mr. Osbom and Mr. Kilburn sponsored us. The fall brought Homecoming with the theme “Paper Moon. Holly Olber-ding and Cary Kruse reigned as queen and king at the dance which followed our victory at football game. The Junior class honored us at a banquet and prom. Under the theme of Laughter in the Rain , we say Dwight Rossbach crowned as king. Other activities for us included our trip to Lincoln, pictures taken, ordering our announcements, keys, and memory books, and practicing for baccalaureate and commencement. Eight of us have attended RHS for thirteen years; Dal Gerkins, Karen Weber, Cindy Van Auker, Lisa Kluver, Krista Young, Cary Kruse, Robert Hu-waldt, and John Rudebusch. And now although our years at RHS are coming to a close, we all must remember that.......... We've only just begun ... to live. to
