PAST EVENTS OF THE CLASS OF '68 The class of 1968, which will soon enter the ranks of Alumni, has only four students who attended all 13 years at R. H. S. , they are: Twilla Brummels, Donna Meier, Lynette Van Slyke, and Paula Young. In the fall of 1955, 26 new faces entered for the first time the halls of Randolph High School. They were Cinda Caster, Johnny Parlette, Bob Rohloff, Micki Owens, Donna Meier, Janet Kaiser, Jeannie Sandman, Gary Lewis, Danny Kuiil, Nicki Dominissee, Paula Young, Dianne Wendt, Kathy Meier, Dwayne Meier, Mike Waltz, Lynette Van Slyke, Carolyn Hansen, Vicki Mefford, Linda Wattier, Barbara Wattier, John Dunn, Norman Wem-hoff, Joe Rohloff, Twilla Brummels, Sue Huwaldt G Kristie Thompson. Our teacher that year was Ruth Hughes. The first grade we lost Cinda Caster, Sue Huwaldt, Joe Rohloff, Bob Rohloff, Johnny Parlette, Janet Kaiser, Jeannie Sandman, Danny Kuhl, Kathy Meier, Mike Waltz, Carolyn Hansen, Vicki Mefford, Linda Wattier, Barbara Wattier, John Dunn, Norman Wemhoff, Kristie Thompson, and Dwayne Meier. We gained Ricky Gartner G Danny Galvin. Our teacher was Darlene Prokop. Debbie Bauer, Randy Beltz, Vana Rouse, and Kenneth Friday joined us and made our class eleven members. We lost Dianne Wendt, Ricky Gartner, and Micki Owens. Ruth Doerr was our second grade teacher. In third grade we lost Debbie Bauer, Nicki Dominissee, and Vana Rouse. In fourth grade we gained Linda Rokahr, and Kathy Meier. Our teacher both years was Darlene Prokop. In the fifth grade our class was split. Frances Anderson and Marian Jordan were our teachers. We gained JoAnn Huwaldt, Van Richards, Sandra Lorenz, Arlen Hilkemann, Jean Huwaldt, Cheryl Backer, and Karen Novak. Mrs. Jordan guided us through our sixth grade. We lost Kathy Meier, Danny Galvin, Kenneth Friday, and Karen Novak. In the fall of 1963 we gained Randy Broders, Sharon Arp, and Dwayne Meier. We lost Van Richards. Pat Kropp was our sponsor. Mrs. Jordan sponsored us in our eighth grade. We gained Loren Winkelbauer, and Kathy Bierschenk. We ended our Jr. High Years with a 6:00 A. M. picnic breakfast in the city park. In the fall of 1964 the Seniors of 1968 began their first year as the Greenhorns! Our new members were: Linda Weyhrich, Leonard Bloomquist, David Meyer, Randy Lienemann, Mary Sue Truby, Jerry Reineke, Larry Bermel, Sally Jones, Rick Henrickson, Mickie Haselhorst, LaVonne Backer, Doris Jean Schutt, Daryl Junck, Terry Leiting, Connie Dowling, Michael Jones, Dale Rossbach. Our sponsors were Zach Boughn and Gary Slechta. The sophomore year Mary Lou Schmeits and Dick Muma were our sponsors. Lila Broders and Bob Hansen and Cheryl Drey joined us and Randy Broders and Terry Leiting left us. Cheryl Backer, Lynette Van Slyke, Donna Meier, Sandy Lorenz, Loren Winkelbauer, Bob Hansen, Randy Beltz, and Mickie Haselhorst were chosen as waitresses and waiters for the Jr. -Sr. Banquet and Prom. As upperclassmen we were joined by Jill Bartels, Dianne Stapelman, Warren Huetig, Jackie Pflanz, Judy Wobbenhorst, Patty Menke, and Skip Jorgensen. We lost Skip Jorgensen, Sharon Arp, Gary Lewis, Connie Dowling, and Cheryl Drey. December 3, we received our class rings with the Stardust pattern. We presented the play Caught In The Web on November 18. On May 12 we honored the Seniors with the Jr. Sr. Banquet and Prom with the theme Spring Serenade , the music was furnished by the Shades of Blue . Lila Broders was chosen Prom Queen. Bob Hansen was chosen F. H. A. Sweetheart King for the Sweetheart Ball. Gwen Putnam and Eugene Walden were our sponsors. August 28, 1968, we started our senior year at R. H. S. Again our sponsors were Miss Putnam and Mr. Walden. We gained Barney Bartlett and Gary Wattier. Lynette Van Slyke and Dwayne Meier were Homecoming King G Queen. On Oct. 19 O'Neill Photo took our graduation pictures. We ordered our class announcements Jan. 31. April 30 we presented our play Pure As the Driven Snow or A Working Girl's Secret. On April 26 we had our Sweetheart Ball, Sandy Lorenz and Jerry Reineke were chosen royalty. On May 10 the Juniors honored us for our Senior Prom. The Theme was In the Misty Moonlight. Loren Winkelbauer was crowned Senior King of the Prom. May 19 was baccalaureate Rev. Walter Rossback presented the class Sermon. May 22 was our Sneak Trip to Lake Okoboji in Iowa. May 24 we reach a goal but not our highest one, graduation day. Our speaker was the honorable Robert Denny.
