SENIOR CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1954, nineteen students started to school with Mrs. Cliff Hughes as their teacher. They were Berry Caster, Creg Witte, Randy Beltz, David Jewell, David Steckelburg, Larry Kawelage, Kathy Wattier, Barbara Brummels, Janice Leiting, Diane Dennis, Kirby Chapman, Bradley Lenhoff, Vandee McGrew, Mary Lou Fish, Kathy Pock, Gary Dominissee, Mike Huwaldt, Marty Ewing, and Doug Kaiser. Six of those pupils have remained at Randolph Public for all thirteen years of education. They are: Barbara Brummels, Diane Dennis, Kirby Chapman, Bradley Lenhoff, Vandee McGrew, and Kathy Pock. In our first grade year we were joined by Janice Hodwalker, but we lost Larry Kawelage, Janice Leiting, Gary Dominissee, Mike Huwaldt, Marty Ewing, and Soug Kaiser. Mrs. Murtle Wefso was our teacher. 1956 started the beginning of our second grade year. In that year Mary Meier, Randy Borders, and Jim Rohde joined us, but we had lost Barry Caster. Darlene Prokop was our teacher. Miss Prokop was again our third grade teacher. During our third grade year we gained Danny Coulter, Dallas Puntney, Roger Penico, and Diann Sellon, but we had lost Randy Beltz and Mary Lou Fish. We gained Russell Angst and lost Danny Coulter during our fourth grade year. Miss Prokop was still our teacher. 1959 started the beginning of our fifth grade year. Mi'S. Marian Jordan was our teacher. During that year we gained Everett Rokahr and Marcia O'Sullivan, but we had lost Janice Hodwalker and Diann Sellon. John Huff, Jerry Richards, Claudia Reed, and Roseanne Johnson joined us for our sixth grade year while Mary Meier left us. Mrs. Jordan was again our teacher. Mrs. Pat Kropp was our seventh grade sponsor. That year Susan Weyhrich joined us and Greg Witte, Jerry Richards, and Russell Angst had left us. In tlie fall of 1963, thirty-one freshman started R.H.S. They were Danny Coulter, Roger Pentico, Gary Bier-schenk, John Huff, Dallas Puntney, Dwaine Uttecht, Everett Rokahr, Junior Dowling, Bradley Lenhoff, Rodney Patent, Greg Witte, Kirby Chapman, Jim Starkel, Lynette Dunklau, Susan Weyhrich, Mila Wattier, Barbara Brummels, Jim Rohde, Dallas Graham, Marcia O'Sullivan, Karen Hilkemann, LaVonne Tilton, Roseanne, Johnson, Linda Seyl, Regina Eddie, Diane Dennis, Kathy Pock, Claudia Reed, Vandee McGrew, Mary Meier, and Diann Sellon. Mrs. Shirley Jensen and John Hill were our sponsors. At the end of that year, we lost Roseanne Johnson. Guy Mueller, Danny Painter, Dianne Hansen, and Sheila Nelsen, joined us during our Sophomore year and Mary Meier and Marcia O'Sullivan left us. That year Diane Dennis, Vandee McGrew, Karen Hilkemann, Kathy Pock, Guy Mueller, Dwaine Uttecht, Bradley Lenhoff, and Kirby Chapman were privileged to be chosen waiters and waitresses for the Junior-Senior Prom. The Sophomore Homecoming float, A'Salt the Wildcats took first place in our parade. We also took first place in the one-act plays. Mrs. Jensen and Mr. Hill were again our sponsors. Mrs. Shirley Jensen and Mr. Ronald Heermann sponsored our Junior year. During that year John Moen and Darrell Macklin joined us. Also during that year we chose our class rings, presented our play Hobglobin House , and ended the year by giving the Seniors a beartiful prom of Tender is the Night with music furnished by the Toracos . Also during that year, Karen Hilkemann was chosen Belle of our Junior-Senior Prom. Some of the Juniors were elected by the student body to represent Randolph at County Government Day at Harington. In our Junior year we also had the privilege of getting first place on our Homecoming float Bury the Wildcats and on our one-act play. Lynette Case and Rose Mary Urban joined us our Senior year and Gary Bierschenk and Danny Coulter left us. Two Seniors, Vandee McGrew and Dwaine Uttecht, were chosen King and Queen of our Homecoming Royalty. Again our class took first place with our Homecoming float. The Queen of the Sweetheart Ball was Claudia Reed. Our class took first place in the District Contest with our one-act play. On April 28 we presented the Senior play Grandad Steps Out and on May 12 the Juniors honored us with a farewell prom Spring Serenade . On May 22 we spent our Senior Sneak Trip at Lake Okoboji. Baccalaureate was held May 21 and now on May 26 we approach the new horizon remembering The Facets of our Future are Wisdom and Desire . 15

Nighty night! 14 Have some nice vegetable soup. The entire cast.
