enior 64155 aJQ4f5t0l 7 Green! That's just about the word for us during the first few days of our Freshman year. But naturally it didn't take long for us to catch on to what was going on around us. Those eyes slipping around when it came test time and all those worn down erasers. Oh no! It didn't take us long to drift of things, including those sly little tricks. We've drifted get the along now until we are Seniors. We have lost a few of our classmates in those drifts. We started our Freshman year with 23 very green Freshmen. We had quite a time getting used to all the buzzers and new rules although we soon caught on. Of course we were initiated right away, by the Sophomore Class, which was about the most exciting thing during our Freshman year. We had lots of fun as everything was a joke. The girls had to wear bathrobes, pigtails, and men's shoes. The boys wore bathing suits, lipstick, and were barefooted. We also had an all school Christmas Party which was something new to all of us. On January 3rd, we returned from vacation to start a new semester. We gained one new classmate, Isabelle Wiechert, who came from Coleridge, Nebraska. At last, our Sophomore Year! Gee! Did we think we were smart. We got to initiate 30 green Freshmen. We started our Sophomore year by losing two of our class- mates, Raymond Sloan and Irvin Opkis, leaving us with 22 members. about the picnic at remembers. This was dullest year of all four. Nothing going on. In October we had a the bluffs. This picnic was a good one as I think almost everyone It was the best picnic we ever had. Oh dear! There went another classmate, Don Marreel moved to California with his parents. During this year there were 4 boys and 4 girls picked from our class to wait tables at the Junior-Senior Banquet. They had to dress as elves and brownies. Here is one of the most exciting years, Juniors! We now had 23 members again, gaining back our old classmate, Don Marreel, who came back from California. Oh yes! We mustn't forget Sharon von Rentzell who joined us at the beginning of this year. She came from McLean High School. We all got a big kick from looking at the many kinds of class ring displays. Anyway we missed a few classes. Finally we decided to order from Josten Co., through Andrew Time Center. During our first semester we sold magazines, and presented the class play H0h Promise Men, under the direction of Mr. Stringfellow, to help raise money Junior-Senior Banquet. We enjoyed presenting it very much, but oh month of practice beforehand. With the profit from our class play magazine sales, we were able to put on the banquet. The theme was in Parisn under the sponsorship of Mrs. Mary Petterson. Was it an for our dear! that and NAn Evening evening! We all had much fun. After the supper Carol Iler and Robert Moran were crowned King and Queen. Virginia Iler, Lester Mier, and Keith Clark, left this year, dropping us to 22. Well, at last, here we are Seniors, with a grand total of 21 members. On April llth, we presented the play HHillbilly Weddin'H directed by Mr. Morey. On April 20th, we went to Omaha on Sneak Day. On May lst, the Junior Class put on a very lovely banquet for us. The theme of it was U0riental Garden.H We seniors had our Class Night on May 9th. We willed all the juniors a little gift which I'm sure they appreciated. Our Baccalaureate was held on May 13th. At last came the final night, Commencement! We were all very happy about this, Dr. Allen P. Burkhardt from Norfolk Junior College delivered the address. At last we all received our diplomas, hoping they were signed. We Seniors have now left R.H.S. leaving behind us all our good times NClass of '57.N for the
