H -'dll a 4' ,K - We C S 1954 baseball team The 1954 baseball team, coached by Mr. William Yensel, participated for the first time in the South Westem Buckeye League and finished with a record of 1 win and 7 losses. The team was composed mostly of sophomores and juniors who should be well seasoned for this year's baseball encounters. We also expect a good turn out of fresh material from some of the other classes. First row: Jim Hess and Butch Yoder, Managers. Second row: Owen Macy, Jim Banker, Iohn Coleman, Frank Kyle, Don Ridgwey, Dan Baker. Third row: Mr. Yensel, Coachg Winston Brumbaugh, Larry Collins, Paul Gray, Jerry Sherman, Spec Sanders, and Gor- 1954 frack feam The 1954 track team was small in number but not lacking in ability and spirit. Because of the size of the team, most of the boys competed in more than one event. Dick Lawyer set a county record in the mile with the time of 4 minutes, 49. 8 seconds. Also outstanding was Ronnie Whitesell's performance as he set a county record in the pole vault with a leap of 10.5 feet. The team finished well in the meets in which they participated. don Steiner.
