Mrs. Frances Davis Lawson Because she embodies the spirit of Randolph- Henry, the scholarship, the citizenship, the con- tagious enthusiasm which is its tradition, the annual staff of 1948 proudly dedicates this edition of ' The Log ' to Mrs. Frances Davis Lawson. Mrs. Frances Lawson and Miss Maude Pugh were members of the first faculty at Randolph-Henry and have taught here since that time. Each has made many fine contributions to the school in various ways other than those of a class room teacher. Mrs. Lawson has served as: Sophomore, junior, and senior sponsor First sponsor of the S.C.A. Co-sponsor of the first yearbook Sponsor of The Log Sponsor of the Magazine Sales Campaign Sponsor of the R-H Alumni Association Advisor to the Alumni Bulletin Chairman of the Social Studies Department Miss Pugh has served as: Sophomore and junior sponsor Sponsor of Junior Red Cross Co-Sponsor of the S.C.A. Sponsor of the Magazine Sales Campaign Sponsor of the 4-H Club Co-Director of Charlotte County Pageant Co-Director of Senior Play and Christmas pageants Chairman of the Mathematics Department Miss Maude Clay Pugh There is one member of the faculty of Randolph -Henry High School who has played an integral part in the progress of our school since its open- ing day. She has proved to be an understanding friend, a wise counselor, and an excellent teacher of mathematics. By her selfless devotion to her work as sponsor of the Magazine Campaign throughout the years she has made possible many important contributions to our school. To repay in part our inexpressible debt to her, we, the Seniors of 1961, with deep pride, respect, and admiration, dedicate this volume of ' The Log ' to Miss Maude Clay Pugh.
