Our Jirs S eps The Randolph -Henry Senior ring was chosen by a committee of representatives from each class in 1940. The ring shows the school building on one shank and Princess Charlotte, wife of George III of England, on the other. The county was given the name of Charlotte by the House of Burgesses in 1765 in honor of Princess Charlotte. The Seal of Randolph-Henry The nineteen leaves on the left of the seal and the thirty-nine leaves on the right signify the year in which Randolph-Henry became a school. The motto, Ut Serviam (that we may serve), the lamp of learning, and the book of knowledge denote the purpose of the school. The Athletic Council in 1940 selected royal blue and white as the official school colors and de- signed the athletic monogram.

RANDOLPH -HENRY SCHOOL SONG Randolph -Henry sons and daughters we, Randolph-Henry we will fight for thee, When the blue and white goes out to fight, Foes we find we fight with all our might, For Randolph-Henry sons and daughters we,i Randolph-Henry we will fight for thee, So let ' s fight until the final gun And victory is really won. In Selecting The words and music of the school song were written by Mr. Clyde Duval, the first band director. Oar tj mile ms and 1st alii sling The Randolph-Henry Flag shows the blue seal on a white background. OracfiL utions The class of 1940 had the unusual responsibility of se- lecting a gift for the new and seemingly perfect school. The Charlotte County Historical Pageant which the class presented in place of a play revealed the need of a spotlight. Thus, this spotlight became the first gift to the school by a Senior Class. Since that time each class has sought, through a gift, to leave R-H a little nearer perfect than it was when it entered. 9
