The Charlotte County Board of Education formed policies for the Charlotte County school system and was responsible for the operation of the county schools. New members of the board this year were Mr. Spraggins Marshall of Madison district, and Mr. Robert Hall of Central district. Other members of the board were Mrs. Flournoy Barksdale of Roanoke district, Mr. John Lyle of Walton district, Mr. Purcell Hamlett of Midway district, Mr. Judd Jackson of Bacon district. Mr. Jackson served as chairman of the board and Mr. Lyle was vice-chairman.

Jaff FALL Autumn is not just returning to Randolph-Henry and the changing of leaves. It is the warm greeting of an old friend and the crowds roaring from the football field on chilly Friday nights. Activities are organized and the noise of the marching band wafts through the window, and we sometimes long to escape from studies. Activities, sports, and social events reflect all the vigor and enthusiasm of autumn at Randolph-Henry.

MR. GRANT 0. McGHEE Superintendent of Schools Mr. Grant 0. McGhee received his AB degree from Emory and Henry College and his MA degree from Duke University. His experience includes teaching, serving as Director of Instruction, and as Principal. In 1957 he became Superintendent of Charlotte County schools after serving as Principal of Randolph-Henry for five years. Mr. McGhee provided leadership for the schools by attending scheduled meetings, serving on committees, making numerous speeches, and publish ing various articles.
