RANDOLPH HENRY HIGH ESTABLISHED CLASS OF 1943 PROPERTY OP THE LIBRAE ' 0? VirGIN ' a BKBMGND.VA At Randolph-Henry High, 1962 is, and will be, the best year of your life. It is a time to study, to learn, tc determine what the years ahead can bring; a time of disappointments and successes; a time of confusion and calm — a unique way of life. Remember the Fall of 1961 with its perfect Homecoming? Even though your team didn’t win the game, it was still per- fect because it was yours. Remember the magazine campaign which enables us to complete the Field House, the class plays when the familiar auditorium stage ac- quired the air of Broadway? The trip to the University of Virginia; the inspiring Christmas pageant ; the S. C. A. dance; mid term exams when you wondered if study was worth the time ; the basketball games you stood in line for, just to yell yourself hoarse for the Statesmen team because it was your team and you loved it — it was the winter of 1962, remember? FOREWORD Spring brought with her the baseball games, the festive prom, Senior week, and the inevitable final exams with more late study hours. Sometimes you felt like quitting. Yet knowledge brought satisfy- ing security. When the last books were taken out and your locker was empty, waiting for the belongings of some other student in some other year, you became a little less anxious to leave the place that had been your home for the best years of your life. That night in June of 1962 you walked across the stage to receive your diploma. In your mind’s eye you saw the year pass by again! Somehow the total of all of those months produced a memory you will cherish always — We, the 1962 Log Staff, hope we have captured this memory for You.
